Hardscaping is the foundation of many landscapes. The landscape design process begins with space and discussion of how it is utilized. How do we move through it? How much room do we need to feel comfortable in it?
These questions are answered first with the walkways, retaining walls, patios or decks. Walkways can be created with individual stepping stones or a more formal mortared walk. Walls not only provide for additional garden seating, they allow us to take an unusable sloped area and level it creating a functional garden room. Patios and decks are then configured to allow easy traffic flow and adequate space for entertaining.
